These terms are written in plain language for teachers, tutors, interventionists, homeschool families, and schools using Literacy Arcade for literacy instruction and practice.
Acceptance of Terms
By using Literacy Arcade, you agree to these Terms of Use and our related policies. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Educational Use
Literacy Arcade provides educational games, assessment tools, fluency tools, teacher tools, and Build & Play tools for literacy practice and instruction. The site is intended for lawful educational use by teachers, interventionists, tutors, homeschool families, schools, and students using activities provided by an adult.
Accounts
Teacher accounts may be available through Google sign-in. You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for activity that occurs under your account.
Students do not create Literacy Arcade accounts and should not use teacher login features.
User-Created Content
Teachers may create, save, and share instructional content such as word lists, passages, activity titles, settings, and student-ready links. You are responsible for the content you create and share.
By saving or sharing content, you give Literacy Arcade permission to store, process, display, and deliver that content as needed to operate the site and provide the requested features.
Student Information Warning
Do not enter student personally identifiable information into custom fields, saved activities, shared links, titles, lists, notes, passages, or other teacher-created content. This includes student full names, student emails, student IDs, grades, disability information, assessment records, or classroom rosters.
Students are not asked to provide personal information, do not need accounts, and do not log in.
Paid Subscriptions
Literacy Arcade Plus may include paid subscription plans, including a $49/year Founding Teacher launch offer, a $79/year annual plan, and a $7.99/month monthly plan. Features, prices, and plan availability may change over time, but active subscriptions will be handled according to the plan terms shown at checkout and in Stripe billing records.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe may provide billing management, payment confirmation, and receipts.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse Literacy Arcade. This means you will not attempt to break, overload, scrape, reverse engineer, interfere with, or gain unauthorized access to the site or its systems. You also agree not to upload, save, or share unlawful, harmful, abusive, infringing, or inappropriate content.
Intellectual Property
Literacy Arcade, including its site design, tools, games, text, graphics, code, and branding, is owned by Literacy Arcade or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may use the site for educational purposes, but you may not copy, resell, repackage, or redistribute the site or its tools as a competing product without permission.
You keep ownership of teacher-created instructional content you add, subject to the limited permission needed for Literacy Arcade to operate the service.
Tool Accuracy and Educational Disclaimer
Literacy Arcade tools are designed to support instruction, practice, and planning. They may contain mistakes, may not fit every student or setting, and are not a replacement for professional educator judgment, formal evaluation, or school-required assessment procedures.
Please review generated lists, scores, passages, recommendations, and activity content before using them with students or families.
Availability and Changes
We may update, improve, pause, or discontinue parts of Literacy Arcade at any time. We try to keep the site reliable, but we do not guarantee that every feature will always be available or error-free.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if an account or use of the site violates these terms, creates security risk, causes harm, or misuses Literacy Arcade. You may stop using the site at any time and may contact us about account deletion.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Literacy Arcade will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, revenue, or educational outcomes related to your use of the site.
