Information We Collect

Depending on how you use Literacy Arcade, we may collect or process the following information:

• Teacher account information, such as name, email address, and profile image, if you sign in with Google.
• Teacher-created content, such as saved activities, word lists, passages, tool settings, and shared activity setup.
• Messages you send to us, including your email address if you contact us for support.
• Basic site usage information from analytics tools, such as pages visited, device type, browser type, referring site, approximate location, and general interaction data.
• Payment and subscription status information needed to provide Literacy Arcade Plus. Full card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by Literacy Arcade.

Google Sign-In and Teacher Accounts

Teachers can sign in with Google to access account features, save activities, and use a teacher dashboard. When you sign in with Google, Literacy Arcade may receive limited Google account information such as your name, email address, and profile image, depending on Google permissions.

Teacher accounts are intended for adults, including teachers, interventionists, tutors, homeschool families, and school staff. Students do not need accounts and should not use teacher login features.

Saved Activities and Teacher-Created Content

Teachers can save activities, tool settings, lists, passages, and other instructional materials to a dashboard. Teachers can also create student-ready links to share activities with students.

Shared links may make the activity title, selected words, sentences, passages, and settings available to anyone who has the link. Please do not include student names, student emails, student IDs, grades, disability information, assessment records, or other student personally identifiable information in saved or shared activity fields.

Student Privacy

Students do not need accounts. Students do not log in. Students are not asked to provide personal information to use student-facing Literacy Arcade activities.

Literacy Arcade does not intentionally collect student names, student emails, student logins, student profiles, classroom rosters, or student account data. Teachers should not enter student personally identifiable information into custom activity fields, titles, word lists, passages, notes, or shared materials.

Literacy Arcade does not sell student data. Literacy Arcade does not use student data for targeted advertising.

Payments Through Stripe

Paid Literacy Arcade Plus subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Stripe handles checkout, payment details, billing management, and receipts. Stripe sends receipts to the email address used at checkout.

Literacy Arcade may receive limited billing information from Stripe, such as your email address, subscription plan, payment status, renewal status, and customer or subscription identifiers. We use that information to activate and manage Plus access.

Analytics and Cookies

Literacy Arcade may use analytics and similar tools, including cookies or related technologies, to understand how the site is used and how to improve it. For example, analytics may help us see which pages are visited, which tools are popular, and where users encounter friction.

Analytics information is generally used in an aggregated way to understand site performance and improve tools.

Analytics are not used to collect student names, student email addresses, classroom rosters, or student records. We do not use student data for targeted advertising.

How Information Is Used

We use information to operate Literacy Arcade, provide teacher accounts, save teacher-created content, create shared activity links, manage Plus subscriptions, send receipts or account-related notices through service providers, respond to support requests, improve site features, prevent misuse, and keep the site secure.

How Information Is Shared

Literacy Arcade does not sell personal information or student data. We may share limited information with trusted service providers that help us operate the site, such as Google sign-in and Firebase services, hosting providers, analytics providers, and Stripe for payment processing.

We may also share information if required by law, to protect the security of Literacy Arcade, or to respond to a valid legal request.

Data Retention

We keep teacher account information and saved teacher-created content for as long as needed to provide the service, unless you ask us to delete it or we no longer need it. Billing records may be retained as needed for accounting, tax, legal, and payment support purposes.

We may need to retain limited billing or transaction records when required for legal, tax, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.

Teachers may contact us to request deletion of account information or saved teacher-created content.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards and trusted service providers to protect information. No website or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we work to limit what we collect and protect what is needed to run the service.

Children's Privacy

Literacy Arcade is designed to avoid collecting personal information from children. Students do not create accounts and are not asked to provide personal information. If we learn that a child's personal information was provided to us unintentionally, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Teacher and School Responsibilities

Teachers, schools, tutors, interventionists, and homeschool adults are responsible for using Literacy Arcade in a way that follows their own school, district, organization, and family privacy requirements.
